Points, games and sets
Understand 15, 30, 40, deuce and advantage.
Points make a game, and games make a set. A standard game is called love, 15, 30 and 40. At 40-all the score is deuce; under standard scoring, a player needs two consecutive points from deuce to win the game.
A common set format is first to six games with a two-game margin, with a tie-break at 6-all. Other announced formats exist, so agree on the format before play.
